Nicky Wilson is well known in New Zealand’s fishing community for sharing her passion for the ocean.

A lifelong angler and fully qualified skipper, Nicky has spent years exploring Aotearoa’s oceans and sharing her love for fishing with thousands of Kiwis through television, social media, and on the water.

Her passion for fishing has taken her from local snapper missions to chasing giants offshore.

In 2017, Nicky landed a world record 361kg broadbill swordfish off the New Zealand coast, a catch that cemented her name in international fishing history.

As the host of TradeZone Addicted to Fishing, Nicky has produced and presented more than 90 episodes of fishing adventures across the country.

Through this work she has inspired countless New Zealanders, especially women and young people, to pick up a rod, get out on the water, and experience the magic of fishing for themselves.

Now, as a mum of two young children, Nicky is combining her professional expertise with her love of teaching to create Kids Fishing Workshops.

These workshops are designed to give children the confidence, skills, and safety knowledge they need to enjoy fishing. From tying knots and rigging lines to casting a rod for the very first time.

Nicky’s mission is simple: to help grow the next generation of Kiwi fishers who respect the ocean, love the outdoors, and feel the same excitement she does every time a fish bites.
